AviClear back to school promotion
Until 31 October 2026, Luma Clinic is running a back to school promotion on AviClear, a laser that treats acne without medication or harsh topicals. A full course, plus follow-up skin rejuvenation sessions and a sunscreen to protect your results, is $2,400.

What AviClear does
AviClear treats the cause of acne rather than managing it day to day. It uses a 1726 nm wavelength of light that is absorbed by the sebaceous glands, the small glands in the skin that produce oil. Less oil means less of the environment acne bacteria need, so breakouts become less frequent and less severe over the months after treatment.
In Cutera's clinical trials, 87% of patients saw at least 50% clearance of their acne after three sessions. AviClear received FDA clearance in early 2022, and Luma Clinic is the only clinic in Nova Scotia that offers it. It is suited to inflammatory acne and active breakouts, and it works on all skin tones.
What to expect
The course is three sessions of about 50 minutes, spaced four to six weeks apart. The handpiece cools your skin as it treats (Cutera calls this AviCool), so most patients find it well tolerated. There is no downtime, so you can go back to your day straight after. Skin often looks a little worse before it looks better, and results continue to build for several months after the last session.
Laser Genesis or LED
Both options support your skin while the AviClear course works. Laser Genesis gently heats the upper layers of the skin to reduce redness and refine texture, which helps with the marks acne leaves behind. LED light therapy, with our esthetician, calms inflammation and is the gentler of the two. We will help you choose at your consultation.
