Ultraformer MPT - HIFU Skin Tightening Halifax

Ultraformer MPT lifts and tightens skin on the face and neck using focused ultrasound, with no needles and no downtime.

It works by high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), meaning sound energy concentrated to a precise point below the surface. That warmth prompts your skin to build fresh collagen and elastin, the proteins that keep it firm. Because the energy is aimed at set depths, it reaches the SMAS, the deep support layer a surgeon lifts in a facelift, while leaving the surface of your skin untouched. We use it for looseness along the jawline and neck, softening definition under the chin, a heavier brow, and fine lines. It suits all skin tones.

A consultation comes first, so we can confirm Ultraformer suits your skin and plan the areas to treat. A registered nurse performs the treatment. You may notice some tightening straight away, though the real change builds over the following months as new collagen forms.

Common questions

Do I need a consultation first?
Yes. A consultation comes first so we can confirm Ultraformer suits your skin and plan the areas to treat. The consultation is $150, and that fee is applied to any treatment you book afterward.
How much does Ultraformer cost?
Pricing depends on the areas you have treated. We confirm the cost for your plan at the consultation.
Does it hurt?
Most patients describe brief warmth or a tingling sensation as the energy is delivered, and find it comfortable enough that no numbing is needed. Your nurse checks in throughout and adjusts as you go.
Is there downtime?
No. Most patients go straight back to their day. Some see mild redness in the treated areas, which usually settles within a few hours.
What side effects should I expect?
Most patients see some temporary redness in the treated areas, and sometimes mild swelling or tenderness. It usually settles within a few hours, occasionally over a day or two. If anything persists beyond that, please contact us.
When will I see results, and how long do they last?
You may notice some tightening straight away. The real change builds over about three to six months as new collagen forms, and typically holds for around a year. It lifts and tightens skin, but it does not do what surgery does, and we will be straight with you at the consult about what it can achieve for your face.
Which areas can be treated?
The face, jawline, neck, brow, and décolleté. We plan the areas together at your consultation.
Is it safe if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
As a precaution we generally wait on elective cosmetic treatments during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Please raise it at your consultation and we will talk through timing, and any care that is medically necessary in the meantime.
Is it covered by insurance?
No. Ultraformer is a cosmetic treatment, so it is not covered by insurance or MSI. We provide a receipt you can submit to a health spending account.
How is this different from Sylfirm X microneedling?
Both build collagen, by different routes. Sylfirm X uses fine needles and radiofrequency to work on the skin itself, which also helps texture, pores, pigment, and redness, and it needs numbing and a few days of pinkness. Ultraformer uses ultrasound through the surface to reach deeper support layers, so it is aimed at lifting and firmness rather than surface quality, with no needles and no downtime. Some patients do both.
Can it help with loose skin after significant weight loss?
Sometimes. Losing a lot of weight, including on the newer weight-loss medications, can leave the face looking hollow and the skin along the jaw and neck looser. Ultraformer can firm mild to moderate looseness. Where skin has lost a lot of support we will say so, and talk through what else might suit you better.
