Retinol 1.0

Retinol 1.0

SkinCeuticals

The highest-strength retinol cream in the SkinCeuticals range, for experienced users who want to smooth fine lines, refine texture, and even tone overnight.

Retinol (a vitamin A derivative that speeds up skin cell turnover) works here at 1.0% pure retinol, released steadily through the night alongside a soothing complex that helps temper irritation. This concentration is meant for skin already conditioned by regular use of Retinol 0.5.

Use at night only, after cleansing and before moisturizer. Build up slowly, keep it away from exfoliating acids on the same night, and wear SPF every morning, since retinol makes skin more sun-sensitive. This is not a starting point: begin with Retinol 0.3 or 0.5 first.

Size: 30 mL
Best for: experienced retinol users; fine lines, uneven tone, blemishes, and visible pores on normal, oily, or combination skin
Use: PM only, starting 1-2 nights per week and increasing slowly
Results: dryness or flaking is common early on; smoother, clearer skin builds over the following weeks

How to use
  1. In the evening, apply a pea-sized amount to clean, dry skin, avoiding the eye area.
  2. Limit initial use to 1-2 nights per week, increasing to every other night, then nightly only as tolerated.
  3. Allow it to absorb before applying other products, and follow with moisturizer if your skin feels dry.
  4. Wear a broad-spectrum SPF every morning, since retinol makes skin more sun-sensitive.
  5. New to retinol, start with Retinol 0.3 or 0.5 first. Avoid retinol if pregnant or planning to be, and check with your clinician.
Complete your routine

At the strongest retinol level, a barrier cream is important. Triple Lipid cushions skin against dryness so you can keep to your routine.

Strong retinol calls for diligent daily sunscreen. This sheer mineral SPF gives high protection with a matte finish.
